Terms of Service

Important: By using Strix Security, you agree to only scan networks and systems you own or have explicit written authorization to scan. Unauthorized scanning is illegal and strictly prohibited.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the Strix Security platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

Strix Security provides a SaaS network vulnerability scanning platform that allows authorized users to discover hosts, identify security vulnerabilities, match findings against CVE databases, and execute remediation actions on networks they own or are authorized to scan.

3. Authorized use — critical requirement

You may only use Strix Security to scan networks and systems that you:

Unauthorized scanning of networks or systems is strictly prohibited and may violate laws including the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), the UK Computer Misuse Act, and similar laws in other jurisdictions.

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have proper authorization before running any scan. Strix Security is not liable for any unauthorized scanning performed using our platform.

6. API key and agent security

Your API key authenticates the Strix agent on client networks. You are responsible for keeping your API key secure. Do not share your API key publicly or commit it to version control. If your API key is compromised, use the account recovery feature to generate a new key immediately.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Scan data you generate belongs to you. We do not sell or share your scan results with third parties.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. STRIX SECURITY DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE. VULNERABILITY SCANNING RESULTS ARE PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES AND DO NOT GUARANTEE THE SECURITY OF YOUR NETWORK.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STRIX SECURITY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Strix Security from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your unauthorized scanning of networks.

12. Service availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability. We are not liable for downtime or service interruptions.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, particularly the authorized use requirements. You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Upon termination, your data will be erased in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States.
